    According to The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Agency for Toxic Substances & Disease Registry detoxification is “the process of removing a poison or toxin or the effect of either from an area or individual.”1 

    “Detoxification” foods, regimens, and therapies are sometimes called “detoxes” or “cleanses” and have been suggested as ways to remove toxins from the body, lose weight, or promote health.  

    In simple terms, it is the process of removing harmful toxins from your body. These toxins can come from various sources, including:  

    • Processed foods: Loaded with preservatives, artificial ingredients, and unhealthy fats.  
    • Environmental pollutants: Air pollution, pesticides, and heavy metals. 
    • Lifestyle choices: Smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, and chronic stress.

    First things first, your body is a natural detox champ. It's got a whole team of organs working 24/7 to filter out toxins and waste. Your liver, kidneys, and gut collectively and constantly flush out the bad stuff and keep you feeling good. Liver: The liver is the star player, acting as a natural filter that neutralizes and breaks down toxins before they can harm your body. 

    • Kidneys: These organs filter waste products from your blood and excrete them through urine.
