The Ayurveda Experience January 19, 2017

Dates are highly nutritious, rich in vitamins and minerals and a great energizer. According to Ayurveda, dates are sweet and astringent in taste, sweet in their post digestive effect and they have a cooling property. They alleviate Vata and Pitta doshas, and possess heavy and oily attributes. They are beneficial to the heart and used in diseases like tuberculosis, debility, bleeding disorders and burning sensations, among others. They have tons of health benefits.

Enjoy this Date Shake recipe. Though smoothies are not usually recommended in Ayurveda (at least in the way they are traditionally made), this shake meets all Ayurveda’s requirements.
