Mahasudarshana Churna is an antipyretic medicine used in Ayurveda, which is mainly used for the management of all types of fevers. It reduces ‘Ama’ (toxins) and helps to fight off fevers and infections. Maha Sudarshana Churna clears channels and increases sweating, which helps to reduce fever.
The herbal powder mixture should be stored in an airtight container.
Mahasudarshana Churna mainly has antipyretic and detoxifying actions. It digests ama (product of imbalanced digestion and metabolism) and reduces the toxins in the body. It detoxifies the body and reduces blockage of channels, which induces sweating and reduces fever.

1 – 2 grams with honey or lukewarm water, once or two times a day, before or after food, as directed by the physician
Maha Sudarshan Ghan Vati is the same product, prepared in the form of tablet. Its dose is 2 tablets 2 -3 times in a day, before or after food, along with honey or lukewarm water.

From its ingredients, turmeric, tree turmeric, ginger, long pepper root and fruit, Pushkaramoola, Shati, Brihati and Kantakari are quite commonly found in many Ayurvedic medicines used for boosting respiratory strength and immunity.
Anemia, infective liver disorders, jaundice, hepatitis - katuki, guduchi, Musta are very well-established liver tonics. Neem and Kiratatikta herbs are excellent anti inflammatory and anti microbial herbs, useful in fighting liver infections.
Shoola, i.e. pin in the abdominal and back region is traditionally mentioned as an indication of Maha Sudarshana Churna. Pain on lower back, upper back, hip, knee joint, pain in flanks etc. are mentioned in the list of indications. Here, in this context, it should be understood that, Mahasudarshana churna is effective in treating the underlying pathology of internal organs of the abdomen such as liver infections, intestinal infections, digestive disorders, kidney and spleen disorders. Thus it helps the patient to avoid the referred pain in the abdominal and lower back region.
Some Ayurveda practitioners use it in the treatment of malaria, typhoid fever and dengue and gout. They use this, along with a combination of multiple therapies and medicines to treat these fevers.
Mahasudarshana Churna is likely to be safe, since it is a purely herbal product. It can be taken by children, pregnant women and adults suffering from fever. However, it alone might not provide relief from infections, so you also may need other medicines to fight infection. Consult an ayurvedic physician for a proper management of fever and infections.
Caution: A very high dosage may cause burning sensation in stomach.
Pregnant women and diabetic people take this medicine only under medical supervision.
