This study was conducted by a beauty retailer in 2016 wherein the value of a woman’s face products across different parts of America was accounted at $8 a day. What’s concerning about this vast data is the ambiguity of the contents of these products and the price-worth ratio.
Now, the cosmetics and personal care industry in the USA is not THAT regulated. What do we mean by “not THAT regulated”? According to a May 2019 report by The Guardian,

The beauty and wellness industry is highly self-regulated. This leaves women feeling completely on their own to decide what to use and what to ditch! Then there are vague terms like ‘Clean’ Beauty that are used in tricky contexts to confuse the customers further. Many a times, products create a perception of naturalness, but continue to forge their beauty bottles with varying levels of harmful chemicals.
To fight this unawareness and keep our community well-informed on what they are using, we have started the
Ayurvedic Beauty Movement. Through the ancient science of Ayurveda, we bring only what will truly help our community achieve the goal of 100% natural beauty via working Ayurvedic ingredients that come from the lap of Mother Nature.
Our Ayurvedic formulations aim at restoring the natural glow and poignancy of a person’s appearance, without the use of any chemicals, binders, additives or mineral oils.
Our herbs are mostly wildcrafted by local gatherers from natural habitat, while some are cultivated.
The gatherers are trained by National Plant Board of India to collect the herbs in a sustainable manner.
We deviate from classical Ayurvedic formulations when factors like endangered herbs, modern skin needs, or compliance drives us to do it. When such a case arises, we use alternatives that are mentioned in the Ayurvedic texts to deliver equally effective results. Keeping conservation in mind, many herbs now are also being cultivated.
We do not test on animals.
Each raw material of our product goes into manufacturing after being tested on three levels: Organoleptic, Physiochemical and Microbial. This ascertains the best quality and complete safety of the ingredients to be used for the products.
We also test for heavy metals, pesticide residues, aflatoxins and microbes, following international specifications. Only products that pass these tests are released for sale.
While creating these products, we keep in mind the needs of every skin, hair, body type. iYURA is devoted to bringing women with distinct problems together, to a single arena of solutions – Ayurveda.
Another facet of our product-diversity emerges from the lifestyle that each iYURA consumer has chosen to adopt. Hence, ‘Freedom of choice’ falls very early on our list of values. Extending on this principle,
all our products are either Vegetarian or Vegan – None of them contain meat, fish or egg.
Traditionally, use of cow milk is ingrained in the science of Ayurveda. For this reason, some of our formulations contain cow milk. We are thoughtful of where we source the milk from. Milk for these products comes from cooperative dairies in India where cows are treated with love.
Our VEGAN line of personal care is equally potent and spreads across skin, hair and body care. Our consumers are free to have their picks and enjoy premium Ayurveda while honoring personal preferences!
