Also known among Ayurvedic peers as the ‘Elixir of Life’, Ghee is an extraordinary, buttery-flavored, golden-colored superfood, known as a healthier alternative to butter and other cooking oils.
According to Ayurvedic texts, Ghee is the magical golden liquid, placed on the must-have list of foods.
They describe it as being beneficial for the entire body. It helps build ‘Dhatus’ (tissues), draws out ‘Ama’ (toxins) and pacifies both Vata and Pitta Doshas.
Also known as ‘Clarified Butter’ here in the west, the unique preparation of Ghee is a methodical, intensive process that involves hours and hours of cooking, which allows the liquid and the milk portion to separate from the fat. As the milk caramelizes and turns solid, the remaining oil is separated and used as ‘Ghee’.
Interestingly, Ashwagandha Ghee is not only a healthier replacement in your diet but can also have advanced effects on the look and feel of your skin and hair! It helps support discomforted joints and lends a helping hand to keep skin looking both strong and beautiful!
Owing to its oleating property, it can be also used for topical applications, as an excellent moisturizing base – especially for Vata and Pitta skin types.
You might have heard, seen or experienced the wonders of ghee in Ajara's Sandalwood Rose Eye Butter - night-time nourishing nirvana for under-eye skin, and now, you can get hold of this 'golden liquid' as a stand-alone experience!

Ashwagandha has been called the 'King of Ayurvedic herbs'.
Used in Ayurveda as a supplement for internal consumption for restfulness of the mind, body strength, relaxation and weight-related concerns, Ashwagandha has benefits galore.
Practitioners use this herb as a general tonic to boost energy and reduce stress and anxiety.
In Ayurveda, they call this potent herb a ‘Rasayana’, meaning 'the path of essence’ because of its ability to promote rejuvenation in human bodies. This means that it helps maintain youth, both mentally and physically.
Ayuttva’s Special Ashwagandha Ghee helps support vitality, energy, mood and stress.*

AYUTTVA's Ayurvedic fine-cultured Ghee is made under the full moon from 100% pasture-raised cultured Jersey cow milk.
To ensure all the energy-uplifting properties of this superfood remain intact, a unique Ayurvedic process involving low cooking temperature is employed.
Apart from preserving its pure rich and buttery flavour, this unique process also makes the Ghee nutrient-dense and help preserve the rich essential fatty acids in their original state.
Our Ghees DO NOT need refrigeration, unlike store-bought butter. All lactose, casein and protein solids are completely removed, making our Ghees extremely pure and shelf stable! As a matter of fact, our Ghees enhance with age!
The quintessential rule of incorporating ghee into your meals daily follows the rule of 1-1-1
Which translates to, 1 teaspoon with your breakfast, 1 teaspoon with your lunch and 1 teaspoon with your dinner. All you need to do is simply replace your butter or your cooking oil or even your garnishing oil for ghee.
However, under mitigating circumstances, you can certainly increase your intake of ghee with each meal.
According to Ayurveda, jaggery and ghee when taken together help detoxify the body. Jaggery, as an alternative to refined sugar, contains nutrients that do not spike the blood sugar level. It contains iron, magnesium, potassium and vitamins B and C.
Making a delicious, lip-smacking Ayurvedic Spiced Ashwagandha Ghee spread!
For just about anyone living in the modern stressful world, Ashwagandha ghee is a wonderful addition to your daily protocol because of its adaptogenic* properties which helps one deal with stress better. The addition of the spices in this recipe supports assimilation and digestion and add a nice flavor too. It's so easy to make your own and can be a great part of a daily health routine.
Ingredients you need -
Once it cools down, use it as a spread on your toast, or use it for cooking or greasing your pans!
Ghee, as a cooking lubricant, is the most widely used method in the world. Because Ghee has such a high smoke point, it makes it the best and the healthiest alternative to cooking oils.
The best part about using Ghee for cooking is that it can be used for frying and sauteing but it will never change to hydrogenated fat or trans-fat, which most cooking oils do.
Ghee, along with rice or dal (lentils) are considered a delicacy in many parts of the world. All you need to do is replace your processed butter for a bottle of Ghee.
You can also use it to grease your pan to make healthy pancakes or pour one or two tablespoons of Ghee into your salad and consume it daily.
Have a glass of hot milk every day with a tablespoon of Ghee mixed in it. Due to its short-chain molecular structure, it acts as an excellent carrier oil, which means your body gets the required nutrients efficiently.
Our herbal Ghees make for a delicious dip for crackers as well.
Replace butter with this as a delectable spread for any kind of bread.
Much beyond making your foods delicious, Ghee also works as a wonderful emollient for your skin, especially drier parts like around the eyes, lips, heels etc.
Since it's clean and 100% natural, it can be applied ANYWHERE!
Mix a few drops of Ghee with any essential oil of your choice in hot water while running your bath. This keeps skin looking soft and healthy.
Ghee can be massaged on the scalp to moisturize the scalp. Its moisturizing properties helps remove dryness. It should be warmed a bit and massaged into the hair roots with fingertips and the palms.
The hair should be washed with warm water and a herbal shampoo after an hour.
Consuming butter in moderation may not necessarily be bad for everyone, but Ghee would be a better alternative for you depending on your dietary needs. Why? Read Along.
The salient difference between Ghee and butter are their smoke points. While butter can smoke and burn at 350°F (177°C), Ghee can withstand up to 485°F (252°C) heat. This makes it a perfect substitute for sauteing or frying your foods.
Secondly, unlike an Ayurvedic Ghee which is light, warm and has an ‘uplifting’ quality, butter is cold, dense and has a heavy ‘descending’ energy to it, which makes it difficult for the body to easily absorb the important essential fatty acids that are known for protecting and repairing the body.
This short-chain saturated fat is so light that research has shown that consuming Ghee regularly helps lower ‘bad cholesterol’*
Now, because Ghee separates milk from fat, it essentially becomes a lactose-free substitute for people craving for dairy products.
No bloating, no cramps, no acidity. Wouldn’t you like one tablespoon with your veggies?

Did you know that the effect of Ghee also varies from the breed of the cow the milk is derived from?
While most consumers might not be aware of the difference between A1 and A2 milk, however many might have heard of the endless debate surrounding it.
A1 milk is produced from the ‘all-American’ black and white Holstein cows that are, in fact, mutated breeds. They are mostly watery and lack certain enzymes. Not surprisingly, statistics also point towards many health conditions that have been caused due to the consumption of A1 milk.
On the other hand, A2 milk comes from Jersey cows which are a superior breed to those that produce A1 milk.
Rest assured, because we, at Ayuttva, use the A2 quality of milk, which contributes to our Ayurvedic Ghee’s par excellence taste and characteristics!
It is worth making a note that the stability of Ghee and its nutritive powers are always heavily dependent on the quality of the milk and more importantly, on the making process.
We, at Ayuttva, undertake a unique Ghee-making process involving a specific temperature, gemstones, an energetically charged environment, mandalas in our kitchen and most importantly, only A2 milk!
All of these combined together make Ayuttva’s range of Ghees truly special and yummy.
Note: The herbal ghee is unfiltered so natural sedimentation or separation may happen. Stir it up if settling occurs.
Yes, absolutely, it can be! In fact, Ghee, also known as the 'good fat', helps regulate these issues by increasing the contribution of lipids towards metabolism.
If you face these issues, what you should be really cutting down are packaged foods. Ghee is a healthy fat!
Yes, 1 teaspoon of ghee can always be added on top of cooked food regardless of what it has been cooked in, to better facilitate the process of digestion and increased metabolism.
However, we suggest switching your cooking oil or butter for ghee which is a healthier alternative to both.
Yes, you can add ghee on top of non-vegetarian meals too. The unique fatty acid structure of pure, organic ghee aids in better digestion and proves helpful to the body.
In that case, it depends on your body's requirements and needs. If you feel in need of a further aid, feel free to add another teaspoon of ghee on top. Ensure that, on a daily basis, your body is getting somewhere around 3-6 teaspoons of ghee.
Yes, Ayuttva ghees are 100% natural, pure and organic. They can be used to enhance the look of your skin and hair, and can be applied topically, directly from the jar.
We always recommend doing a patch test.
