BUT - before we tell you more about them, there’s something we should address:

An oil is not meant for just lubrication. So if you’re thinking, “Oh, I produce too much sebum already, my hair is sticky, I don’t need oil - think again.

True, oiling does prove immensely helpful in case of dry scalp. But this does not mean that people with an oily scalp can’t benefit from it.

By staying away from the gratifying and nurturing oil massages altogether, you don’t want to be missing out on its plethora of benefits.

All you have to do is consider these two important factors:

1. The kind of oil you are using
2. The amount of time you let oil be in contact with your scalp

Commercial grease-control products can end up stripping your scalp of even the required, necessary natural oils, further worsening the hair condition in the longer run.

In fact, frequent use of such products may prove counterproductive, as in a bid to make up for the loss of oil, sebaceous glands may end up increasing oil production. Add to it, the chemical agents and additives in these products may cause irritation.

However, because Ayurvedic formulations are usually devoid of any such artificial agents you don’t have to worry about any of the aforementioned problems.

Besides, depending on the ingredients being used, Ayurvedic oils can gently penetrate the skin and do not leave any chemical residue on hair.

You don’t have to leave the oil overnight in your hair. Neither do you need to keep it all day to benefit from it. Instead, you can apply the oil, say, half an hour before taking bath and then wash off to get soft, silky, shiny hair.

Just a quick 5-10 minutes of tantalizing massage can prove sufficient to nurture your hair from within and make for an uplifting experience, without devoiding it of the necessary natural oils. Just make sure to leave it on for at least 20-30 minutes before washing off - and if you wish to deep condition, go on, keep for a couple of hours!
