Puffy Eyes
The skin just below the eyes is very thin and highly sensitive to fluid compartmentalization. Seasonal allergies, sinus infections, crying, and water retention from high blood pressure and consumption of excessive salt are some of the reasons causing the puffiness around them.
According to Ayurveda, this condition indicates an excess of Kapha. Here are some tips from our Ayurvedic practitioners that can help you tackle puffy eyes better: 

• Deal with seasonal allergies effectively with herbs like tulsi, turmeric, and ginger under the consultation of a practitioner.
• Switch your sleep position. Avoid sleeping on the sides and try to sleep on your back. 
• Avoid rubbing eyes frequently, going to bed with makeup on, and harsh cleansers. 
• Hypothyroid, cardiovascular or kidney problems can cause under-eye fluid retention. So, get yourself checked by your primary care practitioner to rule out these conditions.
•  Place slices of cucumbers, potato, and apples, chilled tea bags, or even a package of frozen peas on the eyes. This can constrict leaky blood vessels and lessen the puffiness.
• Avoid extra salt in your diet.
