In Ayurvedic philosophy, there are five elements of nature: fire, water, earth, air, and space. Ayurveda believes that all of us, humans, are composed of these 5 elements, and they are present within each of us as ‘Doshas’. The 3 doshas that explain the changes in our body are:
- Vata (air and space) 💨+🌌
- Pitta (fire and water) 🔥+🌊
- Kapha (earth and water) 🌍+🌊
All of us are composed of the 3 doshas and for a healthy body, they need to be in homeostasis. Any imbalance in their proportions within our bodies leads to ailments.
What are these dreaded dark spots, according to Ayurveda?
Dark spots are an imbalance of 2 doshas. According to the Ayurvedic text, ‘Yoga Ratnakar’, the variations of Vata and Pitta are what causes spots and discolorations of the skin.
We often believe this pigmentation is caused by a single factor like age or acne, but there are several causes that can result in spotting such as excessive and harsh sun exposure, changes in hormones, reoccurrence of acne on the same spot repeatedly and so on.
▶Paraania Oil contains ‘Dita Bark’, ‘Turmeric’, ‘Manjistha’, and ‘Neem’ that play a role in easing these doshas and releasing your face from the clutches of pigmentation.
