Pitta Dosha is out of balance, it means the element of heat and water increases in the body, and the body starts to sweat profusely along with an unusually increased secretion of toxins.
These toxins are a result of the increased heat in the digestive system through Pitta aggravation.
The science of Ayurveda might be 5000 years old but there are many modern-day activities that can cause Pitta aggravation...
1) Toxins
Toxin buildup is one of the major causes of armpit odor. In fact, armpit odor is an indication that there is toxin buildup in one’s body. Toxins are referred to as “Ama” in Ayurveda. Ayurveda suggests many ways to get rid of “Ama”, all naturally, which are discussed later in this letter!
2) Eating too much sour, spicy or fried foods
This increases the levels of Pitta Dosha in the body. Spicy and sour foods activate the nerves that make your body feel warmer, so the body sweats to cool it back down and normalize the temperature rise.

heat, sharpness, and determination. Pitta is the second or middle stage of life – just think of a teenager’s
acne and hot temper, or a young adult’s drive and ambition.
Vata consists of the elements of air and space and is associated with
dryness, lightness, alertness and creativity. In the Vata stage of life, we experience
dry, rough and sagging skin, we may feel cold more often, but also reach maturity, wisdom, grace and mastery. During this time, it’s important to focus on practices that are warming, stabilizing, grounding and nourishing.

It is a little funny to think that even concepts like Body Odor have a past and story of evolution, but here we are, going through multiple studies and research by many archeologists who have made discoveries about the importance of distinctive body odor. A lot say that it was humans’ body-smell that protected them from their predators, that humans smelt so bad that animals would steer clear of them! A lot say that cities in general smelt of sewers or dirt, so human stench wasn’t really on top of the priority list. A lot believed that smelling “bad” would save them from catching any air-borne diseases.
“Smelling bad” apart from being a way of life was also a habit that humans developed in the hopes that they could save themselves from many environmental stimuli. Which is why we can certainly say that the past did not smell like roses! It smelt like anything but roses! It smelt of piles of garbage sitting under the sun and filth, because for humans, smelling like that and staying in close proximity with smells like those was what they believed protected them! Therefore, the need to rid cities of these horrid smells was not thought of until the “Miasma Theory” was discovered. Miasma Theory suggests that many diseases come from pollutants in the air, the presence of which can be recognized through their foul smell.
So, after the belief that smelling horrible for saving human life was quashed, the idea of smelling nice or, a better word, “civilized” came into existence. It is weird how ridding cities of horrid smells was seen as a health issue but “smelling nice” has historically been linked with cleanliness and class when it barely has anything to do with both. The history of perfumery, which goes back to 4000 years, begins with the invention of perfumes only when rich Egyptians (Kings and Queens) needed it.
